Teppei Kitayama

Hello, my name is Teppei and I guide tours around the Mount Fuji forest and lake areas. I’ve worked in tourism for over 20 years and I’m an avid traveler. I’ve spent 2 years backpacking around the world, hiking in regions like Pakistan, Mongolia, and South America.
Now settled at the foot of Mt. Fuji, I focus on “slow observation” moving away from common stereotypes to share the real life survival strategies of the forest. In my personal time, I practice rock climbing and shower climbing. While my tours focus on accessible nature walks, these activities allow me to learn more about the mountain’s vertical landscape and its water sources. I hope these personal insights add a little more depth to the stories I share with you.
Beyond private tours, I am involved in environmental education, collaborating with local partners like HAMAYOU Resort to lead school programs. My goal is to offer an experience that stays with you long after you go home.
I provide guided walks suitable for all ages and fitness levels. Whether you prefer a gentle stroll to take things easy or a more challenging exploration, I am happy to suggest a path that suits you. Let’s discover the quiet, authentic heritage of this region together.
